In February 2013 my Grandmother, Dorothy Kinsella and her friend Susan Heller joined a scientific working vessel which journeyed along the coast of Norway, heading North in search of the Aurora Borealis; the Northern lights.  Most of their time was spent at sea, however they also encountered many little towns and ports during their expedition to study the lights, with the final day and evening culminating in the unveiling of the spectacle.

This book is a record of their day-to-day journey captured by my Grandmother on disposable cameras. The project was to fulfill my childhood dream of seeing the lights for first hand and to really experience the full adventure.
